(Spotlight) SpaceGhostPurrp

In hip-hop music the South just may have the most diverse collection of sounds know to the public and underground scenes. You've got your lyrical acts, trap music, Miami bass music, and a whole mix of music in between. Some of the most influential music however came from Memphis in the early to mid 90's from Three 6 Mafia. The Mystic Styles and Underground Vol.1 & 2 releases spawned a slew of rappers from all over to try their hands and the infamously titled "Horrorcore" sub-genre of hip-hop. Future releases from the group became less rugged and raw and appealed more to the mainstream audiences while keeping the signature Three 6 sounds that many of today's big southern producers (Lex Luger, Drumma Boy) have grown from.

While others have become more mainstream with their sounds the Miami born SpaceGhostPurrp does his best to recapture that raw feel that Three 6 had in their heyday mixed with his own personality. Those who've heard Purrp on A$AP Rocky's recent release as well as Juicy J now that this dude is poised to do some good things on the independent circuit. Despite the titles of some of his releases this is no devil worship or horrorcore music, no this is more of an homage to the southern predecessors that inspired him. His style may not be for everybody but for those of that early-mid 90's Three 6 Mafia / Lord Infamous music will definitely dig this.
